Discover Now
Your experience begins with a short drive from downtown Whitehorse to the canyon viewpoint. As you arrive, your guide will introduce the fascinating story of the region—how the fast-flowing river and narrow canyon once challenged gold rush stampeders traveling north in the late 1800s. Walk across the iconic suspension bridge and enjoy incredible views of the canyon below. The trail offers several photo spots overlooking the river, forest, and dramatic volcanic rock formations carved by centuries of flowing water. During the visit you’ll have time to explore the surrounding trails, learn about local wildlife and plants, and hear stories about Indigenous history and early explorers of the Yukon. The peaceful atmosphere and stunning scenery make this stop one of the most photographed places in the region.
Day 1
We’ll welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in downtown Whitehorse. The hotel is located within walking distance of all attractions, restaurants, banks, and stores. We will have an informational meeting and registration for optional tours at the hotel. Take your time for fitting the winter clothing (optional), shopping, and dinner on your own. At ~10:00pm departure for Aurora viewing. A cozy, heated cabin or wall tent with hot drinks and snacks makes your Aurora viewing even more enjoyable. Return to hotel around 2.30 am.
Day 2
Today at 10:00-11:30am, enjoy a city tour of Whitehorse, before embarking out to the lodge. Before heading out at ~1:30pm, enjoy a lunch in Whitehorse and check out of your hotel room.
The drive to the Boréale Lodge is ~ 45 minutes. The drive is a tour in itself, as you travel along the South Klondike Highway. You will enjoy some breathtaking landscapes of mountains, and forests before arriving. Your room will be ready and your host will give you a tour of lodge, showing you the common spaces both inside and outside. Perhaps you want to start relaxing and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, or the hot tub before 7:00pm dinner.
