Aurora, Wildlife & Hot Springs: A comprehensive package including hiking and relaxation

On our Best Value Aurora Viewing tour, you’ll discover scenic Whitehorse, the Yukon’s capital; surrounded by endless mountains. On successive evenings, you’ll travel just outside the city centre, but far enough from the city lights to an idyllic Northern Lights viewing location, the AuroraCentre. The evenings will feature relaxing Northern Lights viewing beside a cozy wood stove or roaring campfire, the perfect way to enjoy your relaxed vacation. On a half day hiking tour you’ll get to see some of the most breathtaking views of the Yukon’s landscape and scenery. You will also visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve where you’ll have the opportunity to view and photograph wildlife in its natural habitat. To cap of a great day, we’ll travel to the nearby Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs. On free days you can choose from optional summer sightseeing, shopping and touring in and around the capital.

The Experience

This Aurora, Wildlife & Hot Springs tour is the ultimate Yukon adventure for those who want the best of northern wilderness, culture, and relaxation all in one immersive experience. Beginning in Whitehorse, Canada’s northern gateway, you’ll be welcomed by rugged mountain vistas and the kind of vast, unspoiled landscape that makes travel here so magical.


Day 1

Transfer to your hotel located in the heart of the city, not far from the banks of the Yukon River. Whitehorse is small and easy to explore on foot or by vehicle. Later in the evening we set out to the AuroraCentre where we’ll seek the sight of northern lights. Overnight Hotel in Whitehorse.

Day 2

In the late morning you will discover the sights of Whitehorse, historic and yet trendy, on a city tour with character. Visit the SS Klondike National Historic Site; among the last of the great paddlewheelers that plied the Yukon River system until the 1950’s, the Old Log Church; the oldest building in Whitehorse, the unique Log Cabin Skyscraper; a three story tower made completely out of logs. And when you’ve seen all these top sites, Main Street is perfect for strolling and shopping with its shops galleries and café’s. We will visit the Yukon Wildlife Preserve for close views of many of the Yukon’s large mammal species including elk, moose, mule deer, caribou, Dall’s sheep, mountain goats, bison and even the musk-ox of the high Arctic, all in their natural surroundings. Not far from the preserve is Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs where you can indulge yourself in the natural hot springs and relax in a breathtaking summer mountain setting. Late in the evening you’ll be back on the road again, this time to seek views of the stunning Northern Lights. Relax in sheltered comfort, or under the starry sky beside a warm fire at one of our tailor-made aurora viewing locations. Overnight Hotel in Whitehorse.

Day 3

On a hiking tour you’ll get to see some of the most breathtaking views of the Yukon’s landscape and scenery. We’ll hike a well established trail along the Miles Canyon overlooking one of the famous Yukon River. The panoramic views let you enjoy the vast open space of the Yukon. Later in the evening we set out once more to the AuroraCentre where we’ll seek the sight of northern lights. Overnight Hotel in Whitehorse.

Day 4

Transfer to the airport.
